Cherry Wine Scented Smoke

With over a thousand songs in my playlist, there is not much repetition

Songs have been added for over a decade, taken from my own choices

Taken from recommendations, or found through others

There is a song that I associate only to Nicole

I hadn't heard it before, I'm not sure how it should sound

The song plays and I am taken to this moment

I hear Nicole's sweet voice as she plucks the strings

Smoke mixing with the notes in each exhale

The new beginnings and short chapters

The temporary home seems empty and gray without her

The way I started my own habit

As if smoke escaping my lips could ever compare

To the colours that she breathed

You can't catch smoke

You can't trap her

The colour follows only her vision
